    Hudson Valley Tesla Specialists

Tesla window tint & paint protection in the Hudson Valley

Prestige is an authorized XPEL installer protecting Teslas across the Hudson Valley from our shop in Hopewell Junction — our dedicated tint, PPF and wrap center, where all of our window tint and paint protection work is done. Whether you just picked up a Model 3 in Fishkill, a Model Y in Wappingers Falls, or a Cybertruck anywhere from Beacon to Newburgh, we install the same XPEL Prime ceramic window tint and Ultimate Plus paint protection film offered through the official Tesla program — with the local, hands-on service of a shop you can actually walk into.

Every Tesla we tint or wrap is cut on computer-driven patterns made specifically for your model, so the film fits the glass roof, the curved rear glass and every body panel exactly — no hand-trimming on your paint. Window tint is backed by a lifetime warranty and our paint protection film carries XPEL's 10-year warranty. Build your exact price with the tool above, or read on to see what we recommend for your specific Tesla.

    By Model

Tint and PPF for every Tesla model

Each Tesla has its own glass, paint and priorities. Here's where we focus on yours.

Model 3 window tint & PPF

The Model 3's steeply raked windshield and fixed glass roof pour heat into the cabin. XPEL Prime XR or XR Plus on the sides, rear and roof cuts that heat dramatically while keeping the clean, factory look New York's 70% front-window law requires. Full-front or full-body PPF keeps the Highland's soft factory paint chip-free.

Model Y window tint & PPF

As New York's best-selling EV, the Model Y is the Tesla we protect most. Its large panoramic glass roof is a heat magnet — ceramic tint on the roof alone makes a real difference in summer. Add full-front PPF to guard the hood, fenders and mirrors from Taconic and I-84 road debris.

Model S window tint & PPF

The flagship sedan deserves flagship protection. XR Plus delivers maximum infrared rejection for long highway drives, and full-body Ultimate Plus or Stealth PPF preserves that deep paint — and resale value — for years.

Model X window tint & PPF

Big glass, falcon-wing doors and a huge panoramic windshield mean the Model X gains the most from ceramic tint and a full-front or full-body wrap. Stealth satin and Color PPF let you transform the look while protecting every panel.

    Cybertruck wrap & tint

The Cybertruck's stainless-steel exterior can't be repainted, which makes XPEL film the go-to for both protection and personalization. We offer Stealth satin and Color PPF full-body wraps, plus Prime ceramic tint for the oversized windshield and glass.

    Why Tint

Why ceramic window tint is a must for any Tesla

    More heat rejection, more range

Teslas pull from the battery to cool the cabin. XPEL Prime XR Plus blocks up to 98% of infrared heat, so your AC works less and you hold onto more range on hot Hudson Valley days.

    Tame the glass roof

That panoramic roof looks incredible and dumps heat and UV straight into the cabin. Ceramic film on the roof can drop interior temperatures noticeably.

    99% UV & interior protection

Blocks over 99% of UV rays, protecting the vegan-leather seats and the large center touchscreen from fading and cracking — and protecting your skin on long drives.

    Autopilot-safe ceramic

XPEL Prime is a non-metallic, nano-ceramic film, so it won't interfere with Autopilot cameras, sensors, GPS or cell signal the way old metallic tints did.

    Less glare, more privacy

Cut windshield and side glare for safer day and night driving, and add privacy for everything you leave in the car.

    Lifetime warranty

Our XPEL window tint is warrantied for life against bubbling, peeling, cracking and fading for as long as you own the Tesla.

    Film Comparison

Prime XR vs Prime XR Plus

Both films offered through the Tesla program are nano-ceramic, block 99% of UV, come in any legal shade, and carry a lifetime warranty. The difference is how much infrared heat they reject:

Infrared heat rejectionup to 88%up to 98%
    UV rejection99%99%

Not sure which to pick? On a daily-driven Tesla, XR is a fantastic value; if you park in the sun, tow, or want the coolest possible cabin, XR Plus is worth the upgrade. We'll help you choose at your consultation.

    Why PPF

Paint protection film: keep your Tesla flawless

Tesla's factory paint is famously thin and soft, and Hudson Valley highways — I-84, the Taconic, Route 9 — throw a constant stream of rock chips and road debris at your front end. XPEL paint protection film is a clear, self-healing layer that absorbs those impacts so your paint doesn't. Light scratches and swirls disappear with heat from the sun or warm water.

Choose the coverage that fits how you drive: a Full Front End (bumper, partial hood, fenders, mirrors and headlights) for the highest-impact zones, a Wear & Tear Kit for door cups and high-touch areas, or a Full Car wrap for total protection. Then pick your finish — Ultimate Plus gloss for an invisible shield, Stealth for a satin-matte transformation, Fusion for a ceramic-infused topcoat that stays cleaner longer, or Color PPF for a full color change that also protects the paint. It all pays off at resale, too, when your Tesla still looks showroom-fresh.

    New York Tint Law

Is window tint legal on a Tesla in New York?

New York has one of the strictest tint laws in the country (NY Vehicle & Traffic Law §375(12-a)). The windshield and both front side windows must let through at least 70% of light — so dark front tint isn't legal, and your Tesla has to pass an annual inspection that measures it with a meter.

How that plays out depends on how your Tesla is classified:

Model 3 and Model S are passenger cars, so the front and rear side windows must be 70% or lighter. The rear glass can be darker because the car has side mirrors on both sides.
Model Y, Model X and Cybertruck are multi-purpose vehicles, so only the windshield and front windows need to be 70% — you can go as dark as you like on the rear side windows and rear glass.

You choose your shade — we'll tint your Tesla to any darkness you want. If passing inspection and avoiding tickets matters to you, we'll steer you to a New York–legal setup: XPEL Prime ceramic at 70% VLT on the front windows looks like clean factory glass and still rejects a huge amount of heat and 99% of UV, because the performance comes from ceramic chemistry, not darkness. Prefer to go darker? That's your call — we'll walk you through exactly what's legal at your consultation so you can decide, and you stay responsible for compliance with NY law. (Verify current rules with the NY DMV.)

    FAQ

Tesla tint & PPF questions, answered

How much does it cost to tint a Tesla?

Use the instant pricing tool above — pick your model, Prime XR or XR Plus, and your coverage to see your exact price. As a guide, full side-and-rear window tint starts around $560 in Prime XR, with the glass roof and windshield priced separately so you only pay for the glass you want done.

Is window tint legal on my Tesla in New York?

To be NY-legal, the windshield and front side windows must allow at least 70% of light. On the Model 3 and Model S (passenger cars) the rear side windows must also be 70%; on the Model Y, Model X and Cybertruck (multi-purpose vehicles) the rear sides and rear glass can be any darkness. We'll install whatever shade you want — and for anyone who wants to stay inspection-legal, we recommend a 70% ceramic on the fronts that still rejects serious heat. The final shade and staying compliant with NY law are your choice.

Will window tint or PPF void my Tesla warranty?

No. XPEL window film and paint protection film are warranty-safe and won't affect your Tesla's warranty. Our patterns are computer-cut for your exact model, so nothing is hand-cut on your glass or paint.

Does ceramic tint interfere with Autopilot or the cameras?

No. XPEL Prime is a non-metallic, nano-ceramic film, so it won't interfere with Autopilot cameras, sensors, GPS, Bluetooth or cellular signal.

Should I tint the glass roof?

Most Tesla owners do. The panoramic roof lets in a lot of heat and UV; ceramic film on the roof can noticeably lower cabin temperature and reduce load on your AC and battery.

What's the difference between Full Front and Full Body PPF?

Full Front protects the highest-impact areas — bumper, partial hood, fenders, mirrors and headlights — from rock chips. Full Body wraps every painted panel for complete protection and is also how you do a Stealth satin or Color PPF transformation.

    Can you wrap a Cybertruck?

Yes. Because the Cybertruck's stainless body can't be repainted, XPEL film is the way to protect it or change its look — we offer Stealth satin and Color PPF full-body wraps, plus Prime ceramic tint for the glass.

How long does the install take?

Most window tint installs are done in a day. Paint protection film typically takes one to a few days depending on coverage. We'll give you a timeline when we confirm your appointment.

Do you offer financing or a deposit option?

Yes — financing is available on most services, and you reserve your install with a deposit. Build your quote above, send it over, and our team will get you scheduled.
