CS uses color-stable dyed film technology. XR and XR Plus use multi-layer nano-ceramic technology for greater heat rejection. All three offer 99% UV protection and a lifetime XPEL warranty. Performance varies by film and shade.
New York generally requires at least 70% light transmission through the windshield and front side windows. Rear side windows must also meet 70% on vehicles classified as passenger cars. The rear-window requirement has an exception for vehicles with qualifying outside mirrors on both sides. Medical exemptions may apply. We check the vehicle and window requirements before installation.
Lower VLT means darker film. The legal measurement is light passing through the complete window, so the existing glass matters as well as the film shade. We help you choose an appropriate film after reviewing your vehicle and New York requirements.
No. Unlike cheap metallic films, XPEL ceramic tint is non-conductive, so it won't interfere with cell signal, GPS, radio, Bluetooth or keyless entry.
It's dry to the touch right away, but full cure takes a few days to a couple of weeks depending on weather. Leave the windows up during that period and any haze or small water pockets will clear on their own.
